This I’ve got to share… During working with one of Malaysia’s biggest telecommunication company, I came across this cool tool called BGInfo. What this tool does is it displays system information on desktop’s background about information that may need you to extract say from SystemInfo or MSINFO32; info including Hostname, boot time info, CPU, TCP/IP info, currently logged-on user and many more.

The good thing about this software is that it does not keep on consuming your system resources because once you place BGInfo in Startup folder, it will write desktop bitmap and exits.

You can configure what info you’d like to be display and once done, you can save the settings and import the saved settings so that it could be loaded to other systems. So no need to do it manually for each and every computer should you need it to install it on multiple computers. A neat tool to configure your organization’s Common Operating Environment (COE). Best of all, it’s FREE and configurable!
